Let the mixture sit in a warm, sunny spot for a few weeks, shaking the jar occasionally. To make rose petal syrup, start by collecting fresh, pesticide-free rose petals. Rinse them gently to remove any dirt or debris. In a saucepan, combine equal parts water and sugar, and bring to a simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the rose petals to the syrup and let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the syrup cool completely before straining out the rose petals. Store the syrup in a clean, airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. **
